FAQs

frequently asked questions

Q?

Is it necessary to shave my head in order to wear a hairpiece?

A.

It is usually best if the hairpiece sits on a shaved surface in order for the base materials to disappear on your skin and to also achieve a perfect fit. The area that the hairpiece is designed for, will already have a fine density, therefore shaving that area will not pose a significant difference especially considering that no one will see that area without hair because you only do it to have it replaced with a thicker density.

Q?

Which types of systems are more natural?

A.

We offer every type of base material used in hair replacement systems on the market. In achieving the most natural appearance, the base materials used are unfortunately some of the most fragile. Only in exchange for achieving an invisible transition between your own scalp and the hair replacement, micro-thin bases are used.

Q?

How many attachment methods are there?

A.

There are basically two types of attachments. The first type is sometimes referred to as a semi-permanent attachment where the client can “do it themselves” after we demonstrate how to do it. This type of attachment can be secure for up to two weeks before it requires maintenance; although with most cases it may be necessary to maintain after one week. The second type of attachment is referred to as a permanent attachment and is by far the most popular method. This type of attachment has to be maintained professionally and may last up to six weeks although more commonly must be maintained once per month. This type of attachment is achieved using special medical grade skin adhesives. There are many different types of skin adhesives and one is normally selected based on a person’s scalp condition and lifestyle. Typically, it may take A TOUCH OF HAIR, two or more applications to be able to determine the best application for you.

Q?

How long does each piece last?

A.

When it comes to life expectancy of a hair replacement system, it has to do with the quality of appearance one wants to maintain. You can make a hair replacement last two years or you can be happy with the appearance for only four months. Basically, it has to do with the quality of appearance one wants to keep. The method of care one furnishes to the system is also vital in determining its longevity. Unfortunately, we cannot stop wear and tear, and the more active the lifestyle, normally the shorter the life span of the hair system. All our products that you purchase, we give you a warranty on. Depending on the product you choose that is write for you.

Q?

Do you use human or synthetic hair?

A.

Synthetic hair is normally used for grey or white hairs unless specifically requested by the client. Otherwise, 100% human hair is sourced.

Q?

What attachment do you use?

A.

We have all over attachments and adhesives, perimeter attaching liquids, gels, and creams. We can also perform every other attachment method available and attachments that you do yourself.

Q?

How long does my system stay on my head?

A.

This entirely depends on the client. With do-it-yourself attachments, you can remove the attachment daily or leave it on for up to two weeks. Professionally done attachments however, can last from two to six weeks before they require re-attachment and maintenance.

Q?

How long after you design my system will I need to wait before I can have my system?

A.

Normal process with the factory takes a minimum of six to eight weeks. However, with certain extenuating circumstances, exceptions can be made to speed up the process somewhat with an additional charge.
